Evans Music, Incorporated has been a significant business presence in downtown White Bear Lake from its inception in 1978. The company was founded by John and Cathy Evans in partnership with The Podium, a well-known Dinkytown music retailer, and functioned for its first several years as The Podium of White Bear Lake. By 1984, White Bear Lake marketplace demands and business growth led to independent ownership as Evans Music, Inc. and to the emergence of musical instruction from secondary service status to prominence in the retail and service mix.
